The Early Years

onweb Pty Ltd commenced as an Australian company in 1997. We are business partners of an international organisation that started a couple of years ago. It was formed to meet an unmet demand for companies wanting an affordable internet presence. The project became such a success that the business expanded to over 90 countries around the world. onweb Pty Ltd was formed as part of this expansion. We continue the tradition of putting customers, from Australia, New Zealand and Asian countries on the internet at very aggressive pricing.

There are several reasons why this organisation and onweb continue to flourish.

First, customer satisfaction has always been the overriding principal behind every move made. That commitment to customer satisfaction is rewarded because the word has spread that we exceed customer expectations.

Second, world class systems were developed to support our customers. For example, systems were developed over a one year period before the first customer went on line. In essence, the kinks had been worked out.

Third, only the best equipment was purchased to serve customers. Silicon Graphic (SGI) servers were installed instead of less reliable PC's. Cisco routers were chosen over less expensive and less reliable routers. Many other decisions were made in favour of quality over price.

Fourth, the focus has been on the core business which is web hosting and this focus has never been lost.

Finally, we price our products very competively and customers recognise the value.

Today onweb and their partners have over 31,000 customers in over 90 countries and this network is recognised as the worldwide leader in web hosting. It is expected that we shall add employees, equipment, and support to handle our high growth and stay well ahead of the competition.
